Thinkpad Dock or Docking Stations – Enhance your Thinkpad Experience
Over the past few years there has been more of a concentration on producing Thinkpad docking systems to improve the overall experience on using these new devices such as the docking stations.
Information: ThinkPad is a brand of portable laptop computer originally, designed, manufactured and sold by IBM. Since Early 2005, the ThinkPad range has been manufactured and marketed by Lenovo, which purchased the IBM personal computer division.
ThinkPad is a product of Lenovo, a global company incorporating the former IBM PC Division. Their mission is to bring more innovation to people so that they can do more amazing things.
The Thinkpad Dock enables users to obtain quick and easy access to peripherals in one plug-in device who do not require the full desktop expansion.
So what does the docking station include:
The Capability of Dual and Multiple Screening
Easy connection to peripherals with easy ejection
Standard ports include 4 USB 2.0 ports
PS2 port for mouse, parallel and serial
Head Phone Out
DVI and VGA including microphone in
Communication – Modem and Ethernet Connection

The ThinkPad computer is a very handy and useful computer to have for use in its portable style. With the introduction of the docking systems it enables the computer to be used just the same way as a desktop computer with the full use of peripherals and communication ports in its stationary position.
This includes extra USB 2.0 sockets, DVI adapters, VGA adapters which are used to enhance the video or audio experience on any given monitor, screen or speaker system setup. The option of using multiple screens can be added allowing an extraordinary experience. (This linking may require other connections to the docking station but dependent on what is wanted to be achieved whilst in use.)
These docking systems can also be locked into place onto tables, on the desk to ensure that they are safe and secure. Each docking station can also be locked with its own unique key provided so that none of the equipment can be opened or detached whilst in use or even in storage which is an added bonus for piece of mind.
The complexity of this piece of equipment allows as mentioned all the same uses of the desktop capabilities but in a smaller form which reduces the workspace area.
