When you (And now you can) attach a Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse to any of the Consoles of today, the Console becomes the HDD (Hard Disc Drive) and so becomes…A PC (Personal Computer).

One of the first to incorporate a drive interface was Amstrad, Commodore and BBC Computers in the form of FDD (Floppy Disc Drive) opposed to the Tape Deck that you had to load data from a Cassette so that a game could be played through the computer. The FDD or Tape Deck in the late 20th Century was replaced by the CD-DVD Drive, for which we see today in almost everything Digital; Desktops, Laptops, Netbooks, Consoles and GPRS Equipment. Even Military machines include some kind of Data Reading System (DRS) for analysis and execution of certain missions or practices.

The consolidating of all these past, present and future mechanics of technology give us the structure that is not only justified, but also plausible to assume a “Stepping Stone” effect which has surpassed any ideas mankind had during the 1950′s and 1960′s where the relationship between the Computer and the then unknown idea of Console merge together as one singular unit. Of course the argument could be intensified by the reluctance of the creator’s telling us that the Console is “Unique”, where in reality it is just a basic Personal Computer without the trimmings.

VR VS Reality.

With Technology today, especially in the climate of both Terrorism and the Global Economic Recession, the human race is consistently separating themselves from their “Real Lives” while stepping into that of “Virtual Reality” – An artificial Construct that serves solely as an “Artificial Construct” – and immersing themselves within “Worlds of Fantasy” where the only ‘Concern’ is to reach the end of the game and become one of the few “Top Players”. From serious commitments to virtual decisions, we become the catalyst that links a Digital Data Community with an organic world which cannot exist without its corporeal host.

With many of the users that log on to games through their various Consoles, the initiation of both Construct and Organic becomes enhanced beyond the acts of reality; once inside the game the player (The Organic) interacts with the fantasy (The Construct), and so a relationship – of sorts – is then acquired where the “Real World” can be left behind. During game play the Construct will then lead the Organic player through the tribulation-like life of the character that they are directing on each level. And so, through this behaviour and series of acts the user finds the Construct World more appealing and less stressful than the Real World of uncertainty.

Deconstructing Addiction.

There are no immediate solutions on “Deconstructing Addiction”, especially where the “Console” is concerned. To withdraw the “Console” as a thought of removing the problem to bring a cure would not be a conclusive resolve for many reasons, one which is proven, as in other cases where addiction exists, is that the “After Effects” can be catastrophic – if not terminal. A cooling off period would be a starting point, followed by the gradual withdrawal of the source causing the addiction.

As more and more ideas emerge for bigger and better consoles, we find that the use of technology as a whole has us almost at its mercy; mobile phones for communication, personal computers that work out our daily routines, GPRS which helps guide us to our locations, productive machines that build and construct our habitats and vehicles that we become dependent on getting us from A to B without us relying on other means of transport. Slaves to the machine’s we may be, but in the near future of ourselves, we will have come too far to go back.

Samsung Galaxy Tab just landed on the Vodafone UK website. It is not available for pre-order just yet although the company does not allow its interest in the new film.

The Samsung E2210 Hello Kitty Is A Super Stylish Mobile Phone

The Samsung E2210 was released in May 2009, but has recently seen a re-vamp by major fashion label Hello Kitty. It is clear to see the target market of this phone, with its pink and white colour scheme and bold graphics appealing to fashion enthusiasts who want to express their enthusiasm through the appearance of their mobile phone.

The Samsung E2210 Hello Kitty measures 96×46.5×18.5mm and weighs in at just 85 grams, its light weight making it comfortable to hold and use when out and about. The 1.77 inch TFT screen displays up to 256,000 colours within 128×160 pixels, for good quality display of on screen content. a second display is located on the outer casing of the flip style handset (96×96 pixels) so users can see information such as the time, and the origin of incoming calls without having to open the phone.

Users are alerted to incoming calls and messages via vibration and ringing with the option to download polyphonic ringtones and utilise MP3 ringtones from the media files stored in the phones media player.

The phonebook can store up to 1000 entries, enough to cater for the needs of most social users. 9MB of internal memory is provided for storage of files and data.

In order to stay connected in all but the most isolated of locations, the Samsung E2210 Hello Kitty utilises Class 10 GPRS and Class 10 EDGE for its network connections. Version 2 Bluetooth offers users a convenient and efficient method of sharing data such as media files with their friends, provided they are in the same location and have a compatible handset.  A USB connection allows the handset to be directly connected to a computer in order to transfer media files and back up contact information etc.

The device comes with a built in camera (VGA) which operates at a pixel resolution of 640×680 pixels. As an alternative to taking still snapshots, it can record video at 160×120 pixels, at a rate of 15 frames per second.

The phone features an MP4 player, organiser, voice memo recorder and T9 predictive text input. A stereo FM radio player with FM recording means users can listen to their favourite radio stations when out and about. WAP 2.0/xHTML offers a means to browse the internet and carry out tasks such as download the latest polyphonic ringtones.

Whilst this is definitely no Smart Phone, the appeal of the Samsung E2210 lies within it styling and branding, and is sure to appeal to the fashion conscious mobile phone user.

Monitor enclosures utilised for outdoor digital signage and in hospitals

LCD monitor enclosures are used through out various business sectors from healthcare to outdoor digital signage applications, but the main benefit for use is to protect the enclosures hardware.

Monitor enclosures refer to small format monitors, normally up to 27″ and in a 16:9 screen ratio. Now these can be used in production facilities as part of the factory information system to display information to employees, or equally in a hospital for displaying patient’s details.

Now these screens can even be positioned outdoors to form an external video wall used for digital signage, these work by splitting the signal on the media player and distributing them equally over the video wall, without any unique “magic black box”.

Protection is paramount – so no matter if it is from extremely high or low temperatures or the vandals, a monitor enclosure will protect the TV and the media player from the riggers of nature.

There are 2 kinds of monitor enclosures, the first are manufactured from toughened LEXAN material, however we have found that they suffer under extreme temperatures and have to be swapped out with a solid steel LCD enclosure, these are more rugged and durable.

A solid steel monitor enclosure is manufactured so that the end solution provides a protective environment, so even air borne contaminants can be filtered out to prevent them harming the hardware inside. In some instances monitor enclosures have been fitted with air conditioning units so they can run independently from other systems.

Now when water is present stainless steel is used to manufacture the enclosure, this material has brilliant corrosion resistant properties due to the amount of Chromium in its chemical make up.

Demonstrating that a monitor enclosure can be produced from various materials and these really do depend up on the application the screen will be used for, from healthcare, production facilities, or outdoor digital advertising – there is a solution for your application.
